New Update

I don't have a lot of time to play TWOM today, so the information below haven't been completely verified. Some of the information I've gathered myself, the other information came from my friends and trusted forum users.

Item System

To use the item crafting system, go the crimsonsabre merchant and buy the books:
       Combine Book 1: 1100
       Combine Book 2: 110,000
       Combine Book 3: 550,000

• Gender Changer: changes gender of the character, make using: 10 pet coins and 20 pirate coins
• 6th cores obtainable from extracting blue items
• 7th cores obtainable from extracting purple items

Sky Castle

Talk to the SkyGateKeeper, above the Crimsonsabre Merchant
You need to give him a Sky Castle Key to get in (which can be bought in bt for 6-7, or made using Combine Book II).

To move to the next map, walk around until you find a swirling blue portal.

New Pets

Have to admit, the two new pets actually look pretty good.

 
Holy Water and Repairing System

I'm not exactly sure how this works yet, but as users on the forum have pointed out, holy waters are gone, and they have been replaced with a new system that involves buying gemstones and repair scrolls.

Small Guide - Credits to Amaz0ns and DemonMickley from com2us forums

For armor, take your +4 or +5 item and use a non-blessed scroll of the correct enchant class on it

If you fail, the item will have a little "destroyed" text in red underneath the item tittle

This is where Gems and scrolls come in, use your repair scroll of the correct class on the item, it will require a certain number of gems (arm D is 5, arm C is 10, arm A is 200) 

Using the correct repair scroll with the required gems in your inventory will restore weapons randomly to +1-6 enchanted, and armors to +1-4 enchanted

200 Gem stones should be sold for 400-500k. Based on regular conversion ratios, so it will cost about this much to repair an A ranked armor.

"But think of it this way 5 armor (if you buy each 300) A = about 1.5m, if you fail with holy water +4 again is another 1.2m or so

With gems, +4 again is anywhere from 250K-1.15m

To repair A weapon you need to have 400 gems.

The World of Magic New Map Sky Castle

It's what we've all been waiting for! An expansion to the world of magic! Sky Castle ~

It appears that there will be new monsters for players to train on (starting from level 26), with a new mob 2 levels higher than Sandeaters. More information

Speculations

• Release date: Probably during the winter vacation, based on the two pictures released
• Map design: Sky castle will be connected to the empty exits on both factions. Each faction will have its own first few maps (like the desert) and will converge to a map shared by both factions (like hot sand plains)
• New bosses: It's almost a given that there will be new bosses
• New items: Possibly new equipment 
• New skillbooks: Many of the skillbooks cannot be obtained in game, perhaps this new map will have monsters that drop these skillbooks.

New changes to PvP the good and the bad

New changes to the PK system:

In the recent update com2us made noticeable changes to the PK system:

• If you attack a person who is white, and that player dies, you will turn red
• Red names last for approximately 2 hours (needs to be confirmed)
• If you die while your Red, your name turns black
• Black names last for approximately 3 hours

So what are the pros and cons to this new system?

Pros:

• Discourages players from PKing random players, this means:

o   Less pking in farming areas

o   Less pking in training areas

• This also means that the chances of getting PKed while exploring areas in enemy realms will be lower

Cons:

• The time it takes for your name to turn white is unnecessarily long
• Many players play this game because of the PK system, this new system weakens the PK system, reducing the number of wars and making the beach quieter

Abuse of the system:

Here are two ways I’ve seen the system abused:

• Coming to other realms and ksing other players

o   Because of the new system, many pros in the server feel less inclined to help PK ksers

•  IMPORTANT: Fake duels, players can give you a red name by:

1. Challenging you to a duel while they are white
2. Letting you hit them one or two times, without hitting you back (this means that they do not turn purple)
3. Running away and committing suicide

Just like that you turn red. Be skeptical of players that challenge you to a duel; If they run away white, RC immediately.

I wouldn’t normally do this, but to discourage this type of behaviour I may post the names of players who commit either of the two actions, for my server (Devilang). I play on both realms, so I won’t be acting on any biases. Please don’t email me any names; I’ll only post the players that I see.

Autumn Festival

To commemorate the start of autumn and the upcoming moon festival an additional 30% exp bonus will be granted to players during the following times:

Everyday at 00:00 ~ 02:00 / 06:00 ~ 08:00 / 12:00 ~ 14:00 / 18:00 ~ 20:00 (PDT)

This event runs from the 26th until October 3rd.

And again, boxes will be dropping (this time Autumn Gift Boxes) and a new pet will be added to the game.  Cute new artwork but same style of event.

Are warrior’s good at PK/PVP?

From my experience playing as a warrior and watching other warriors in action, there are certain aspects of PVP that warrior’s dominate. Warrior’s have high defense and high HP and can last longer in a battle than any other class. While they are a well rounded class, there are other aspects of PVP that warrior’s aren’t as good in. This guide will explain the advantages and disadvantages that warriors have in PVP.

Advantages

• High defense, high HP and high block; warrior’s can bull rush into a crowd, wipe a number of enemies out, retreat, recharge and repeat.

• Warrior’s have speed thanks to bull rush and wild charge; they can move around maps and run away fairly quickly

• Last resistance makes you practically invincible for 5 seconds

Disadvantage

• Warrior’s have to chase after running enemies

• Not as effective in 1v1 battling against a mage

Warrior vs. Rangers 1v1

Rangers like to ensnare warriors and then damage them from a distance. If a warrior gets near them again, they will use shift to move away. At this point you should try landing wild charge’s and slam’s to stun the target, preventing them from moving away from you, once they are stunned try hitting them with drowsiness and continue spamming slam. Finish with a wild swing. Remember save your bull rush and use it only when you are ensnared.

Warrior vs. Mage 1v1

Mages can be extremely difficult for warrior’s to take out. Mages have a variety of skills that disable your movement and disable your ability to use skills. This makes you a sitting duck. When PvPing against a mage, you have to break their shield and make sure they don’t recast it. When their shield is on, you won’t be able to stun them using slam or wild charge. When PvPing against a mage, I like to use rage and land a wild swing. After this they will probably try to retaliate by moving farther away from you. I like to use bull rush to catch up to them, land drowsiness and then proceed with berserk and spam slam – saving a wild charge in case they somehow get away. A helpful tip to remember is that, bull rush can be used to unfreeze yourself.

What Should my Hotkeys Look Like?

These are the hotkeys that I recommend having.

Slot 1 (bottom-up): Wild Swing -> Berserk -> Drowsiness -> Slam -> Wildcharge

Slot 2 (bottom-up): Bull Rush -> Last Resistance -> Recall Scrolls -> HP Potions

When Should I Start PvPing?

If we are talking about beach PvPing, I recommend starting at level 35, at this level you should have all your key skills, good HP, and a decent amount of armor and fire resistance. Many of you will probably start PvPing at level 30.I've seen a lot of lower level players PvPing at beach, that's okay, but I honestly wouldn't be wasting my time.

What equipment should I use?

Weapon: You need a good weapon for PvP, from 30-34, if you can get a +6/7 platinum rapier then good for you, but if not try to get yourself a +7/8 gladius with good hitrate 5+. At 35 you should aim for either a platinum rapier +6/7 or rune blade +7. The endgame weapon right now is a +7 or better darksteel sword.

Equipment: Remember only every 5 armor matters. So having 79 armor is no different from having 75 armor.  Try to use equipment that will get you to 80 armor. Once you’re 36 you should try getting your armor 85.  And remember, correct me if I’m wrong but every four levels you get an additional 1 armor. 

Going into more detail:

Helmet – use a +4/5 heavy iron helmet until you can get a good +5 helmet of bravery with good FR

Armor – use a +5/6 highguard armor until you are 36, then switch to a good +5 steel armor again with good FR.

Ring – Use ring of ancient with either an HP or STR enchant

Belt – Madgar’s Belt with either an HP or STR enchant

Shoes - +5/6 Heavy iron boots

Shield – a +6 ion shield with good FR has done wonders for me

Gloves – get a glove with high HR to land more consistent hits on high level players. I recommend either a +4/5 Heavy iron gauntlet with 4 HR or a +6 with 6 HR.  

Cape – stick with a bulldozers cloak until you can afford a COW, COHD or COD. Use a HP or STR enchant on this. But I would say having a good necklace is one of your last priorities. 

Necklace – I honestly like having a raven necklace with good HP but if you can get something better than go ahead. Again this would be one of my last priorities.

-       Switch to a darksteel set

Last tip: When to run away: If you care about your fame, I would say retreat when you have 20% of your HP left when it is 1v1. Or if you are fighting off a mob, then retreat once you have 30%-40% of your HP left. 

Remember the PK feature is meant to be fun (for most players), don’t abuse your powers and have some self control.

Moving Flowers in the World of Magic

With the last update I believe, com2us made a rather amusing error that caused the flowers outside of the village to move around. I am not sure which servers have this glitch but if you want to witness the spectacle come to the entrance of the lanos village in devilang. Oddly enough you can hit these flowers, but it will be either resist or a miss. Even more of a mystery, a few days ago, there were two flowers moving around, however when I checked this morning there was 1 moving flower and 1 flower missing. Keep in mind that you have to be in front of the lanos village to see this.

As many of the players have expressed in the com2us forums, all the events centre around the same theme - new pets and boxes. Issues Between Tapjoy and Apple Resolved? The World of Magic

So many of you who follow my blog have probably been acquainted with Tapjoy. And in the past month, I'm sure that many apple users also had trouble accessing Tapjoy. Although there are no credible sources backing this theory, it has been suggested that Apple got annoyed at Tapjoy for helping mobile app company's inflate the popularity of their applications. According to speculations, apple was annoyed at tapjoy for helping apps gain more downloads by giving users who download the application online currency (platinum in the world of magic etc.). However, for reasons that are unknown, Tapjoy can now be accessed by apple users again, so enjoy your free platinum.

New Update Com2us Anniversary

To commemorate com2us' anniversary, com2us has released a new update. The following changes were made to the game:

1. New pet eggs in the premium shop: Old Normal Pet Egg (500 platinum) Old Rare Pet Egg (1500 Platinum). By opening the old normal pet egg you will have a shot at getting any of the old common pets that they have released in the past (like Rabbit). By opening the old rare pet egg you will have a shot at getting a uncommon pet that they have released in the past (like Red Cap).

2. Anniversary Boxes: Monsters will drop anniversary boxes that contain one of the following items: Pirate Coin, Ancient coin, Greater Restoration Potion, Event Card (C,O,M,2,U and S). The list is still being updated.

The World of Magic Mask Event

Not quite sure what this is about yet. Instead of choosing winners from screenshots you have to leave a comment on their FB page. Given the the increase in the number of players, perhaps they stopped hosting mask events until they came up with a more reasonable method of selecting winners. Before the game had a fairly low population, but can you imagine how many players will show up at the village square today?

Regardless, I'm more excited to find out what they meant in this message.

You can get a Red Card pet through 'card eggs' or 'old gift boxes' but like always you can only get the uncommon pet through the egg. I don't really bother opening up eggs so unfortunately I cannot come up with a list for it. However I can provide a list of what you can get through old gift boxes.

The World of Magic Acronyms

HSP – Hot Sand Plains – Where the highest level players train and hangout. The highest level boss spawns here, dropping items that can sell for hundreds of dollars in real life.

KOS – Kill on spot – List that pkers have. If you’re on a pro pkers KOS list log off for a few days.

HS – Heal. If they’re asking you to hs them, you’re probably a mage. Heal them.

DS – Shield. They want you to shield them.

BT – Black Trader, they’re probably selling something on blacktrader

LH – Lighthouse. They’re probably selling/buying summon to LH or complaining about a PKer

The World of Magic - Magician/Mage Guide

Introduction

Magician’s have a versatile skill set and can be really fun to play. Magicians are highly sought after in parties and are respected by high level players even at their mid level 20’s. However, if you are planning on making a magician you have to keep in mind that they have really slow growth; in fact they are the slowest levelers in the game. Due to their low HP and slow casting speed, magicians may find it difficult to solo monsters on their own. They rely heavily on parties and friends to lure for them.

In character creation it is best to increase INT up to 18 and Wisdom up to 18

Training Locations

Level 1-2: Kooiis

Level 3: Bramble Donguris

Level 4: Leaf Boars

Level 5-7: Swamp Mushrooms

Level 8: Swamp Boars

Level 9-10: Poisonous Mushrooms

Level 11: Sandman

Level 12-15: Honestly, the easiest way is to just use pirate coins, trade them to Rafril(Lanos) or Ratas(Siras). You can buy sets of 20 for 2-3.5k from the black trader, and you get 1.6-2k back from the quest guy for every set you turn in. Epic EXP, but after getting to level 15, they give practically nothing. (Alternatively you can stay at Sandmen).

Level 15-17: Redeye Gosumis or Brooms at the pirate ship

Level 18-20: If you are Lanos train against Mutant Gosumis because there’s a nice sniping platform (try to find someone to help you lure). If you are a Siras go to Magmas. Alternative you can go to Pirate Ghosts or Pirate Skeletons at the pirate ship.

From level 20 onward most mages join parties to level up, they are responsible for healing, shielding and sometimes luring.

Level 20-22: Party at Big Boars if you’re lanos and Firebirds if you are a siras. Alternatively you can go to the lighthouse and party at Imps and Beholders

Level 23-25: Party at Elite Imps and Mummys

Level 26-27: Party at Cactus Bees and help lure if you’re lanos and party at Desert Gosumi’s if

Level 28-30: Party at Sand Donguris and Doleys and help lure if you’re lanos. If you are a siras go to Wild Sandmen and 3 Eyed Lizard.

Level 30+ You should know where to train by now. Hot Sand Plains and Wingfril Temple are both popular places to party.

Leveling and Money

*IMPORTANT* Regardless of the class, to level up fast in the world of magic, burning gold is important. And as a new player starting out, this is what you should be doing. As a noob there's absolutely no reason for you to be keeping gold lying around in your inventory, unless your saving up for a skillbook or a new piece of equipment. Don't worry, when you get to a high enough level, you will be able to make all of your money back through farming.

To level up fast, use your money to:

1) buy skill book
2) buy enchanted equipment (+6 weapons and +4 armor are relatively affordable)
3) If you're funded, buy Wild Boar Dolls to boost your damage. If you're not, you can get a free Awaken Koii Doll once per day from the supply manager in your village

Skills

Unlike other classes, mages have a lot of useful skills at their disposal. The build that you choose to follow may differ greatly from other mages. Here is a build that I recommend following.

Level 2-4: Flame Shock +3

Level 5-7: Light Healing +3

Level 8-10 Shield +3

Level 11-13: Firebolt +3

Level 14: Teleport +1

Level 15-17 Carnivalize +3

Level 18 Freezing Trap +1

Level 19 Save Skill Point

Level 20 Curse of Doom +1 and Prayer of Protection +1

Level 21: Put another point into Prayer of Protection

Level 22: Put another point into Curse of Doom

Level 23: Ice Prison +1

Level 24: Ice Lance +1

Level 25: Stun +1

Level 26: Healing Wave +1

Level 27: Stun +1

For weapons you should be buying +6 weapons from the black trader, this will let you kill faster

For magician weapons I recommend finding a weapon with the highest INT along with a +6 enchantment.

For Armor, you should start buying enchanted armor starting at level 13:

Just like other classes, having enchanted armor is important for survival. Find armor that gives a +4 enchantment plus a HP and MP boost. 

Level 13-17: Expert Magician Robe +4 (40-70k)
Level 17-22: Magician Robe +4 (80k-100k)
Level 22-26: Charmed Robe +4 (80k-130k) depending on HP and MP boost
Level 26: Crystal Robe +4 (700k+)

I recommend skipping Monk’s Robe because it will cost 800k+ to get a +4 enchant. Work on getting a good Sage’s Robe.

For Helmets, you should start at level 18:

Level 8-18: Old Hat +4 with +1 INT (40k-50k) I recommend making it yourself with enchants

Level 18-26: Eye of Beholder +4 with +3 or more INT (80k-100k)   

Level 26-31: Shaman’s Hat +4 with +3 or more INT (400k-600k) you can skip this hat if you have a good eye of beholder (preferably +5 beholder)

I recommend skipping Monk’s Hat because it will cost 800k+ to get a +4 enchant. Work on getting a good Sage’s Hat.

Other Items:

Get a pet as soon as possible, relatively easy to afford a bunny (150-175k)
Gloves: Stick with a +4 Mitten with a good HP boost until you can find a good Seruang’s Heart (10-20k)
Necklace: Stick with a Raven Necklace with a good HP boost until you are 30+ (30k+)
Ring: Pirate or Coral Ring until you are 30+ if you can afford an Ancient Ring (200k+) get it for the HP Boost
Shoes: +4 Boots of speed (60-80k)
Cape: Cloak of Health (15k) or Bulldozer’s Cloak (100k)
Belt: FungiSkin Belt with good HP boost (10k-20k)

Final advice: Resell your equipment that you don't use anymore to buy stronger items.
